Fall Baseball Season

LYBA will have a fall baseball season this year!!  The Board has decided to incorporate a new instructional concept into our fall season.  Beginning around August 11th, our players will participate in both organized group instruction and games each week until Halloween.  There will be an early week instructional night where coaches will put the players through pitching, fielding, throwing, and hitting drills.  Then late in the week, there will be traditional game nights.  The program will run for approximately ten weeks and end at Halloween.  Cost to register will be $25.  The registration form can be downloaded  and registration will begin on Monday, July 28th at the Bill Sapp offices

Final Games Of The Season

Final updates for this season:

Last night at Bill Sapp saw the end of the line for our two major all star teams.  Lumberton Major Supplemental fell to Elizabethtown 13-8 after repeatedly battling back from large deficits.  Supplemental was lead at the plate by Christian Mayer with two hits including a double and three RBI.

Lumberton Major faced a daunting challenge in defending state champion West Robeson American.  WR had soundly defeated three teams in the tournament, but Lumberton held tough and led 3-2 through two innings.  A three run homer by Jonathan Villa and strong pitching by Kelvin Ortega kept Lumberton in it for three innings, but West Robeson pulled away late in a 9-3 loss.

Lumberton American Minors Start Strong

The Lumberton American Minors got off a strong start in the 2014 All Stars Tournament. Their bats were hot early and often and closed out their contest with Scottland County with a final score of 20-5. The American Minors will move on to play Fairmont tonight at 6PM

Minors Supplemental Team loses to E-Town

The Lumberton Supplemental Team jumped to early lead with a 2 run first inning. They continued to battle the Elizabethtown team deep into the late innings. In the end, the strong bats and aggressive running provided the key ingredients for a 12-4 win over Lumberton. The Lumberton Supplemental team has exited the All Star tournament.

Coach Pitch National Team Exits Tournament

The Lumberton National team suffered is second loss in the game against the Hope Mills National team with a final score of 15-5. In the end the National team made it all the way to the semi-finals before being eliminated. All things considered this was still a great effort by the National team.
