The Minor tournament will conclude Thursday night at 6 PM at Bill Sapp. Two teams remain in the hunt for the championship: the regular season champion Rays and the upstart Phillies. The Phillies have reeled off three straight wins in this tournament after finishing the regular season with just two victories. The Rays will have to defeat the Phillies twice to capture the championship.
Last night’s Coach Pitch semifinal tournament action saw two storm-shortened but complete games.
The Braves defeated the Yankees on Field 2 by a score of 8-4. On field 1, the A’s out-slugged the
Orioles 8-5. The Braves and A’s now advance to Friday night’s championship game at six pm on Field 2.
The coach pitch National and American leagues recently held their all star evaluations giving all the coaches one final look at the nominated players before casting their ballots. Teams will be announced later this week. Please check back for the team rosters.
In Minor League action, the Rays held off a late rally to beat the Braves 10-6. The Rays were led at the plate by Ethan Brewington with two hits while the Braves were led by Jacob Connor who tallied two doubles and two RBI. Getting the win on the mound was Luke Pait while Marcus Locklear took the loss.
Monday night saw the opening of the Coach Pitch tournament. The Red Sox won over the Rays 5-4 in a thriller that went down to the last out. The Orioles outlasted the Phillies 15-10. In the nightcap, the A’s were able to outscore the Rockies 15-8. The Red Sox advance to face the Yankees on Friday night at 7:30. The Orioles and A’s will face each other Friday at 6 PM
Heavy rain and thunderstorms have forced Thursdays games to be rained out. Those games will be made up on Saturday.
The CP tournament schedule has changed and will now be a single elimination tournament beginning Monday night. This change was necessary due to the rained out games affecting the standings.
The rained out games for CP will be played Saturday using the following schedule:
Yankees vs Red Sox RC1 @ 10:00 Rays vs Orioles RC2 @ 10:00
Red Sox vs Yankees RC1 @ 11:30 Rockies vs A’s RC2 @ 11:30

The Braves have won the 2014 Coach Pitch National League division by closing out their game against the Pirates. The Braves will head into the coach pitch tournaments as the #1 seed and the team to beat!
The Rays beat the Rockies in a close contest. In the end the Rays bats were too much for the Rockies.
